Unexplained Illness/Death.. i'm so lost.

A guy who runs a website that i go to like 50 times a day is going to die tommorow. I'm not sure how to feel.
He woke up last night, middle of the night from his sleep, Screaming. He went downstairs and his wife say he just "fell apart"
She called an ambulance, and they determined that he had blood in his brain. They tried everything they possibly could, but by the time they could get an analysis done, he was braindead. He's on life support, but have given him a 1% chance of recovery, which is a doctors way of saying it's not going to happen.
They're going to remove life support tommorow, but only to see if he's capable of comming back on his own. At this point it's all up to him. Either the tests are wrong and he'l be able to wake up, or the tests are right and ending life support will let him die.
No explanation, nothing. I just dont know how his wife is able to keep things together. So quick, so unexplained........
oh, and they have young kids.
