the latest is that people shouldn't shake hands instead, but should pound fists instead.
Ok, I see what's going on here, and I understand that right now stopping the spread of germs is important, but is society really going to change this much? Do away with the hand shake? The hand shake is...... well, it's the hand shake. it's something that's been going on since the beginning of time... What else are "they" going to tell us not to do anymore?
I'm interested in seeing what people think about this phenomenon of extreme germism (hey - I just made that up) - will it last, or will it just die out when flu season passes? Is this too much like wrapping ourselves in bubble wrap, or is it a necessity for people to remain healthy??
I don't know really how I feel - I mean, we all want to stay healthy and we all have someone in our lives who is more susceptible to diseases, sicknesses, etc - In the last two weeks, 2 different flu's have swept through our home and I've watched it take down each person in the family like a bowling ball knocking down pins, and it's so easy to see how anyone and everyone can fall ill with normal contact.
but also, I kind of feel like the world is going to hell in a hand bag. Pretty soon we'll all be walking around in rubber suits, breathing with oxygen masks and not leaving our homes. Is that really living?
thoughts??
