In light of some major tragedies in our community lately, I began thinking.
I hope that in spite of grief, one can still smile at little moments.
I remember when my Grandmother passed and my mom and I were clearing out her belongings. For some reason, we would get all excited and happy when we would find a strand of her hair amongst her sweaters and such. We would lovingly collect them and put them aside. I think it was a part of our need in healing.
Anyways, in the middle of her boxes, pretty much amongst unrelated stuff, we found her hair brush . . . full of her hair! Mom and I started to squeal and laugh, and it was almost as if Grandma put it there to help us.
But in our grief, that is what help to make us smile.
I honestly hope that those who have lost this week are still smiling.
