When I was growing up, I was told that I was hyperactive, or that I had a chemical imbalance...the certain things a certain way thing didn't have a tag yet, or I would have been told that too.
Well...after many years of hearing this message from my parents(who were told by doctors)plus the report cards and parent/teacher interviews(difficult)...I started to figure things out for myself.
I had to, I was married and co-raising my own kids...I swore I would not place that stigma on my own kids(not that I blame my parents, because they were fed a lot of crap)
The chemical imbalance theory...I agree with, and my personal belief is that virtually all of us are chemically imbalanced to varying degrees...how could we not be, look at the shit most of us eat, devoid of the proper nutrition and living enzymes we require

Couple this with how we're treated by our peers and society in general...and add the pharmaceutical industries insatiable appetite for profit on the backs of desperate people...kaflewy!!!
We have 5 boys...and just like other kids, they have their challenges: we don't place any stigmas on them...funny story, our youngest boy...teacher says, can't get him to participate in certain classes...because he says he's tired...they're all concerned with us(maybe he should see a doctor, he could have this or that)I laughed, I said that's his way of telling you that he's bored...there's nothing wrong with him...
The problem is, you've got 22 kids, and they're all different...plus with the gov't created curriculum...(oops, another conversation)
Ladies and Gentlemen...what a great subject...I won't chastise you if you get relief from drugs...none of my business...if you find relief some other way, I'm truly happy for you.
For me, what has changed my life(immeasurably) is wholesome foods(not the same for everybody, you've got to figure out what you need)...the most amazing thing was, slowing everything down, practise yoga, get into Qigong...there's other things as well, such as learning how to breathe...meditation. the amazing thing is, when you start to take control thru some of these methods, the ball never stops rolling.
You might look around and say, why do the people around me seem to have it so easy...everything goes their way...#1, you don't know their struggles, and more importantly, once you begin your personal journey of self realization and enlightenment...everything you don't need just starts to fall by the wayside
I know...that's pretty deep stuff, but I can relate to this topic...and that's where my head space is at...take it for what it is.
PM me if you have any questions...I looove to chat.
