Privacy at Brandon Clinic

So, maybe I'm completely on my own about this, but does anyone else hate it when they call (more like yell) both your first AND last name at the doctors' office? I realize they're not actually disclosing any personal health information in doing so, but I find it quite irritating that they do it, and everyone in the waiting room looks up at you and now knows who you are.
Is there no other way of letting people know it is their turn? Perhaps giving people a number when they first check in at the desk like they do at MPI? Or using first names only? I also noticed they didn't even ask to see my Manitoba Health card to verify I was the correct person for the appointment!
At the Western Medical Clinic (if my memory is correct) they usually just call people by their first name only, but at the Brandon Clinic they have used my last name also.
I'm sure many people don't care and are good at respecting other peoples' privacy, but I know there are many people who have no discretion who leave the office and gossip about who was there, and speculate about why they were there.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
