I'd like to see a $25 fee per visit for the Doctor. In a previous career, I would order medical charts to investigate injury claims. You would be very suprised how often many people see the Doctor for minor non-issues. This will be entirely politically incorrect and  
 
I'll catch hell for saying this...but the worst abusers tended to be "soft and round" middle aged women. I'm talking about medical charts that were 2 inches + thick over only 5 (or so) years!  
 
Thankfuly most folks I know (and I'm sure the readers of Ebrandon) aren't this way and only see the MD if and when necessary or for an annual recommended check-up.  
 
Bottom line is that there is a ton of abuse and it's no wonder our system is strained. A $25/visit fee (refundable for lower income) would trim a lot of the abuse. Frankly some folks just go for something to do while they wait for the social ass't cheque to arrive.
