Protein shake question

I would like to know more about those protein shakes.
Let's say I'm an active person. I do sports regularly like 2 or 3x a week. If I were to take those protein shakes a day (not necessary before or after my sport activity), will that help me loose fats and give me a more leaner body? Help with losing weight?
