“Quote” Despite heightened awareness of the dangers of infectious diseases, many people still don't practice good hand hygiene, according to a survey released on Monday.
Health experts at the Annual Inter-science Conference of Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherpy in Chicago say failing to wash your hands exposes others to a host of viruses from the common cold, influenza and SARS.
It is my opinion that many of the reasons for poor hygiene in public washrooms is because the facilities do not supply paper towels or they do not replace them when the dispenser runs out. My worst nightmare is that there is only a hot air blower which does not dispense hot air until it has been in operation for two minutes and then it switches off. After suffering with damp and itchy hands for two minutes, you leave the washroom with bright red raw hands. To cut the possibility of infection by 50% follow the Arab example and only eat with one hand.
