I just saw this commercial on TV for the first time (it may not be a new one, but it was for me) and it brought a smile to my face.  
 
Perhaps societies perception of what makes a woman beautiful is finally taking a turn. What encouragement this is for women, young girls and even men!  
 
These women are absolutely beautiful and it makes me proud to be who I am.

Except there are very few plus women who look like plus size models, with perfect boobs and flat stomachs. Where's the muffin tops. Stretch marks. Small boobs and big hips.  
Woman are beautiful, but I'm not sure by saying it's ok to be plus (as long as your plus body looks like this) were totally there yet.

It also implies that "this is better than that". This is sexy, that isn't. Let's not make ourselves feel better by putting down another body type. Women can be better than that

Even these aren't realistic depictions...these are plus sized models in an industry that considers a model size 8 and larger plus size. Plus sized models also must have the same breast to waist to hip ratio as regular models along with minimum height requirements. I'll reserve my excitement for when a mainstream company uses regular woman as opposed to models...now that would be encouraging!

I'm not suggesting in the least that any specific way a woman looks is better than another. What I am saying is that in the past the "norm" for lingerie commercials shows thin women while neglecting to show that women come in different shapes and sizes, suggesting that thin is the "ideal" look of beauty. I was just happy to see a different outlook, that's all.

What Victorias secret is...she hungry!!!! let's see those skinny ass models try and Twerk...just don't work...baby gotta have back to shake that ass on the floor.

and I don't look like the male Calvin Klein underwear models either, most guys don't, so I don't think it's just a woman thing.  
 
Is it? Models are models, the rest of us are people who look more average, each and every one of us will be attractive to a certain number of people and not to others IMHO.  
 
Why worry about it?
