I had a cracked tooth..dentist filled it. still hurts (hot & cold) back to dentist..dentist said another crack in same tooth..wants to refill it(more money) or root canal.(no money for that)I think extraction is the best solution, but dentist sent me home to think about it because they don't like to remove a tooth..It is a molar near the back..does anyone experience with a cracked tooth, and the solution ?(no dental insurance)

Likely need a root canal, he can fill it and then a month later still need the root canal. Extraction costs money too. I would go and see about getting insurance, go to a local agency. Maybe it will save money in the long run.

Town Centre Dental is where I go. I do not do root canals so have had a couple molars extracted. Dr. Zuniga is excellent.

Town Centre Dental is where my father inlaw went and he had a cracked tooth. They were told he was there for a cracked tooth, so they did everything but fix the tooth and tried to pass it off to insurance to pay, well $2800 later the insurance company denied the claim. They ended up going to another dentist and explained what happened and they could not believe they did that.

have the tooth extracted. I've had a root canal done on a tooth that was hot and cold sensitive. A month later I had it extracted. It was then discovered it was cracked.  
A month ago I had another tooth hot and cold sensitive. I just took the route of extracting it. We inspected it after and found 3 cracks. It was a good call on my part.  
If the crack makes it way down to root it will cause infection and it hurts like a bugger when it's opened up to drain because freezing doesn't take well on an infected tooth. The worst pain I felt in my life!

I go to the one on 16th and princess i went to town center and they didnt freeze me enough and they hurt me. I have never had an issue at my dental clinic

From personal experience I would get it extracted. Did he mention the crown ($1000 gold) after filling again, and the root canal? Extraction, one time, is much cheaper than multiple procedures which may end in extraction, anyhow.

I've cracked a few molars. No success fixing them. I just have them pulled. Root canal was a suggestion with a warning that it may end up needing to be pulled later anyway.  
 
We do need teeth though, so I wouldn't say pulling them is best for everybody in every situation.
