It seems that with the Sportsplex pool being shut down for renovations that will extend to July now we are running into a major problem room at the YMCA. It is getting dangerous in the lane swimming as there was 10 people trying to swim this morning. I had about the width if my shoulders straight at my side to swim and finally had to quit as I got kicked in the head and was tired of choking on water as the more "advanced" swimmers were splashing around.  
 
My concern is that now that we are getting to the end of the school year the pool will be even busier during the day leaving the non pro lane swimmers no time to swim. I started going at 6 am as the later times in the day were busy with people working out on their lunch times. I know there is a gym at the YMCA but I was advised by my doctor to only swim as I need surgery on both my feet.  
 
I know this is a rant but it is very frustrating when a normal individual is trying to get into shape (for me the main reason is to get my feet fixed) and is unable to do so because of training going on. Not to forget to mention that the YMCA is the only pool for Brandon but also the surrounding area.  
 
If I had the cash and a place that i could put a pool I would.

Hopefully the sports plex is done soon. I agree, we need another pool!

All the outdoor pools will be open so that would ease up on a big crowd at the ymca as well.

With the draw that these small towns get from their pools how can Brandon not support one. Most days in souris it is difficult to get into the pool on hot days because car loads of Brandon residents come out so I can't understand why there isn't one built.

I think the outdoor pools should be opened earlier than June this year because of the SportsPlex situation. Aiming for the May long weekend to be the opening date sounds like a logical thing to do this year.  
 
However, spending millions of dollars because you were inconvenienced for a couple of months does not sound logical to me. The SportsPlex will be completed and not need major renovations for a decade or two. By the time the new pool gets to the planning stage, there will be little or no need for it.  
 
I would rather the soccer complex is completed instead of another pool.
