eyewear Wth?

Ok this may be more of a rant then anything but I'm wondering if others have wondered the same?....... So I wear eyeglasses but haven't bought for some time as my current ones were working for me until recently. I noticed that my ability to read clearly had changed. I already wear progressive lenses but my pres:cription has changed. So anywho, this is where this story starts. If you wear eyewear you are probably painfully aware of how much money they cost? So because I haven't gotten new ones in a awhile I decided that I should get pres:cription sunglasses as well. So I go shopping for eyewear which I hate almost as much as car shopping. I checked out a few different places and found a pair I loved. So when I was trying them on, they were "designer" with a higher piece point, I noticed a mark on the frames in the display case. I told the sales girl that I wanted new frames. She told me they would have to be ordered and may take a bit of extra time. I accepted this however my question to others is..... Are you aware that when you are trying one the billions of eye glasses that it takes to find the "just right" pair for you. You will in fact be getting those exact pair? You won't be getting a new pair made for you? Those "used" pair of frames that everybody else could be trying on are in fact the ones you take home? I was surprised when she said they would have to order me in a new pair of frames, like don't they anyways? Sorry, this may seem like a trivial thing and in the grand scheme of things it likely is, however, for a thousand bucks plus and that's what it cost me, wouldn't one expect to be getting new frames and not the try on ones in the store? And three weeks later I still don't have them. The sunglasses came in a week ago but the others who knows when they will appear. Would you be surprised by this too? Would you say anything to the store about this? I see why so many buy their eyewear on line. For a thousand bucks plus I expected better service than this from this "reputable" establishment.
