What is helping me right now is consuming homemade bone broth. It is relatively cheap & easy to make. You can drink it straight or use it as a soup base. It helps with digestion, gets your vitamins & minerals in as well as your water.
This, and I eat real food (not industrially processed) off of a small plate. I have fatty coffee or a couple poached eggs for breakfast, a very tasty salad for lunch, and my meat with a bit of complex carbs and a veggie.
Eating in the evening is out. Usually I am eating then for the wrong reasons anyway and it was either sweets or chips.
Water is also important. Flavor it with something real and skip the sugary stuff.
I was losing weight, had bronchitis, had penicillin...and gained most of it back no matter how I ate. I started including the bone broth and a bit of full fat, live culture yogurt, and am starting to lose again.
Be careful of a thyroid diagnoses by a conventional doctor. I have been there and am no longer on their "permanent" meds. They messed me up really bad. I have heard many other similar sentiments on those as well. You are best off going to a good naturopath for that, which I did. I think it is the best way.
PM me if you want to know more.
