On a fixed income now looking for a gym that works on a month-to-month basis hopefully for less than $40 per month. Is this wishful thinking ?

Ymca used to go off your income for a price if you couldn't afford the rate. Not sure they still do that

"founding members" special rate for goodlife when it opens is about $9.50 a week according to their mailers...... other than that I don't know of anywhere in that price range. Not sure when it's going to open though.

According to their website they do have a financial assistance program. Might be worth looking into.

The ymca does still have the assist program based on your previous years income tax amounts.

fpc is 36.75 a month after taxes. They will take out of your account each month.

this is not in Brandon but souris fitness center is $30 per month if you join for a year. very reasonable.

I just signed up for Goodlife Fitness, they had a promo on to the first 500 ppl that signed up $41/month....granted the gym doesn't open until June 15th (they are hoping) but they had the option of paying for your membership bi-weekly, which ends up being $18.99 every two weeks. The manager who signed me up said that within a week of trying out Goodlife if I didn't want to continue with them, that I could opt out at no cost. I'm sure once they open they'll have a few more promotions for you to try it.  
Personally I never used the pool, sauna, or hot tub at the Y and needed something a little cheaper

...was only available until Dec. 31st. You won't pay that now. $60/month regular or $42/month for a yearly membership.

Where did you sign up for this promotion? Or where can a person sign up ahead of time?

General Strange Hall is out of town, but you might find some others to carpool with.

I noticed the other day that Goodlife has a small location in the mall (I think beside Hedley's) across from the former Safeway location. I expect you can sign up there, ask questions, etc.

Student price for limited membership at Brandon Academy of mixed Martial Arts is $50 per month - a limited membership would allow you to attend either their grappling program (brazilian jiu jitsu/ wrestling) or their muay thai program. Find them on social media, maybe you can work something out with them.

I pay $49.35/month for FPC and that's only the women's one. I was told $10 more would get me into both gyms.
