Has anyone gone to see a chiropractor for a plantar fasciitis instead seeing a physiotherapist or maybe both for quicker recovery.

I have had this and it is very painful. I just did the exercises and make sure you buy the insoles for your shoes.

I had it before. I just did the exercises and bought the insoles like what saltnpepper said. It helped.

If you do the exercises and dont over exert yourself it will go away on its own.

I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, bought the insoles, did exercises, etc. It did get better but then I went to see a chiropractor and I don't have plantar fasciitis anymore.

I have done the insoles , new shoes , physio , still in pain . A chiropractor was never mentioned to me . Curious as to what they can do ?

You don't need a referral to see a Podiatrist. However, if you have a benefit plan you might need one in order to have the cost of the visit covered by your plan - check your benefit plan details.

for having it a while there may be a tiny blockage to prevent better movement or perhaps along the rest of the leg even the hips may need adjustment.
Insoles doesn't seem to help for me. It isn't extreme pain as some people I heard they have to the point they can't walk

No referral is needed, but it is a private clinic, which means the services are not covered by Manitoba Health. If you have any insurance through your employer or otherwise, it usually covers podiatry.

I've been dealing with this pain for almost a year now. Have the orthotic insoles but they don't seem to help that much. Really tired of the pain! Mornings are not fun and so painful after working on my feet all day. Appreciate hearing the suggestions - has anyone tried a cortisone shot?

I have had the cortisone shot twice in my left heel. The shot itself is excruciating..... the day of the shot it felt 'achy', then for 2-3 days I could barely walk on it. Then I was good for 6 months. I have seen the most improvement with a physiotherapist, but everyone is different and what has caused their PF. I have knots everywhere!

You need a podiatrist to assess to rule out other problems. You need a lot of stretching and an orthotic sometimes if you have high or low arches. Sometimes cortisone which can give immediate relief. You don't need a referral. There is two clinics in town

Did you do any stretching exercises? Roll a ball under your foot? Watch some Youtube videos. They helped.

What worked for me

Cheap bottle of water, freeze it and use it to roll your foot. (I found alot of info on Pinterest)
I also started giving myself regular foot massages, excruciating at first. But went away pretty quickly after I started doing this, andI still get pain from time to time. Nothing like before tho. Like maybe a 2 or 3 on the pain scale.

I found accupunture helped second to getting insoles made. Cutting out aspertame worked well too.

Soak foot 10 minutes in hot (as hot as you can stand it) water, then in cold (I used ice water), then hot again. Each 10 minutes or so. Helped me immensely. This was prescribed by my doctor.

For me the best exercise is putting my foot against a wall or cupboard and and stretching it. I do it a couple of times a week and have found it completely gone. If I do feel the start of the pain, I do my exercise.

Where in brandon n can u get the cortisone shots

Had them when we lived here n Winnipeg and experienced instant relief

Also looking for a great physiotherapist and acupuncturist

You can get cortisone injections at the Westman Foot Clinic. Dr Bellmont or Dr Ball. Both will asses your condition and will then provide a treatment plan. If appropriate will administer a Cortisone injection.

I get regular chiropractic care also wear the shoe inserts and recently started going to reflexology. It has helped tremendously!!

i have in both my feet...while I've never gone specifically for this, i do see my chiropractor on a regular basis. Mine have sorted themselves out thankfully

And where do u get reflexology treatments?

Any chiropractor can alleviate some discomfort. Candace at esprit wellness center has helped me a lot
