Well it's that time of year again when Student Accident Insurance pamphlets get sent home with your child(ren) from their school.  
 
My questions for parents out there are:  
 
1) Have you ever used this?  
2) What are the pros and cons to using this?  
3) Is it actually beneficial to get?  
4) Does it work on top of any benefits you may already receive from your employer?  
 
Not looking for any sarcastic remarks or judgment. Just looking for more insight into it and other parents honest opinions on it.

I have a healthy and happy 16-year-old, who has never been insured by that school insurance. Being in Canada, I didn't see many benefits from it. My son broke his wrist at a school event, and everything was covered under Manitoba health including his cast and his brace afterwards.
