I have pain on the sides of my foot whenever there is pressure applied to them and I'm not sure what it is or the best place to go. Lots of people say it's probably plantar fasciitis but when I goggle it, it doesn't fit with how my foot feels. I went to my doctor and got an X-ray but it didn't show anything (though I've heard stress fractures may not show up) she told me to try orthotics and come back in a few months to see if it's improved but I not sure orthotics is what is needed and would rather not wait a few months to figure out what is wrong. Has anybody had pain in this area before? Where is the best place to get this figured out?

that your shoes are not wide enough for your feet? That could cause foot pain on the sides! Your feet would feel like they are in a vice!

She is fabulous! I highly recommend her. I also went to my GP and he couldn't help, I needed to see a podiatrist.

I suffered with this sort of pain for a long time. I went to reflexology @esprit wellness Center. Candace did wonders for pain relief!!

Dr Bellmont at Westman Foot Clinic is also quite good.

Yes, I second the Andrews Foot Clinic-Dr. Andrews is very knowledgeable. (FYI, it is a private clinic, not covered by MB Health, but is covered by most insurance)

I see her tomorrow. It took three months to get an appointment. If you do not have insurance or your insurance company does not direct bill, it is $72.

It is most often associated with the big toe, but Gout can affect the sides as well. Just an idea.

It's been going on for awhile and I've worn sandals all summer and was on mat leave before that, not on my feet constantly and not wearing shoes all the time so I don't believe that is the cause. It's more like if my kid sat on the side of my foot or my husband put his foot on mine it is extremely painful but the pain goes away once the pressure is gone.

From what I read about gout, I don't believe that's what I have.

Are you on any medications that it could be a side affect for? I am currently on one that causes heel pain but I’m assured that when I’m done my course of the drug that the heel pain will subside. (Limping pain when I get up in the morning or when I get up from sitting for awhile.)

what about Brandon occupational foot clinic as I have foot problem and gait walking and knees I used to be fit worked out at gym but my foot and knees ache a bit has anyone been to Christie chandler Ive been going to westman foot clinic for years not sure if try Andrews or Brandon private occupational therapy see if results or better or improvements

Rather than guessing and having people try and diagnose this problem online, you need to see a podiatrist. They are trained in foot disorders and specialize in gait study. Dr Ball at the Westman Foot Clinic has been around a long time and helped me

I have heard wonderful reviews about Christie Chandler however if you have private health insurance and wish to have any foot treatments/equipment such as orthotics covered, check to see what designation your footcare professional needs to have in order to be covered by your insurance. In my case, it was recommended to me that I go see Christie however my insurance only covered treatments and orthotics provided by a podiatrist/chiropodist and Christie has neither of those designations (or at least didn't have when I checked several years ago).
