Timeouts: Might sound obvious

but my sister in law had troubles with her 2yr old daughter and was trying the time outs like people suggested but it didnt work, then some genius asked where she was taking the time outs, "In her playpen"......" Did you take the toys out?!?!!" lol, afterwards the timeouts worked much more effectivly. They are also always make an effort to stay very calm, always be polite to their child, they use pleases and thank-yous when they talk to her, are consistent in the rules and now have a very polite 2.5 yr old.
