No, I already posted how this situation could have been prevented.  
I meant how could all the judging have been prevented? This entire thread never needed to exist.

I'm very sorry your daughter has to re-home her dog.  
 
For all of the people saying she should have taken into account the breed of dog she was getting and it's needs - yes, absolutely true, however that fact can't be changed now and she is doing the best with her current situation. No need to make her feel worse about it. Hopefully in the future, she (and perhaps others that read this) will take that into account before getting an animal and this situation won't have to be repeated.  
 
I do have one question though in regards to where people get dogs (and I know I'll get flack for this, but have to ask out of curiosity). Someone said that she obviously got it from a backyard breeder, puppy mill, or someone not responsible enough to spay/neuter, since the dog wasn't a foster dog or a purebred. Question - if no one ever bred dogs the first three ways mentioned (backyard breeder, puppy mill, dog not spayed/neutered), wouldn't mixed breed dogs eventually be eliminated (and eventually no foster animals, which in itself would be wonderful!)? The only source would be purebred dogs. Personally, I've owned one purebred dog and two mixed breed dogs. My purebred (and many other breeds I researched) had breed-specific health problems that mixing breeds will sometimes eliminate. When I am looking for a new dog, there's no way I want to get a purebred dog. I've had much better success health wise and personality wise from my mixed breeds. If (years and years in the future) no one buys from the other sources, the option of a mixed breed in theory wouldn't exist. I don't think that will ever actually happen, however if everyone becomes "responsible", there is the potential.

Quite frankly, all but 1 of my dogs have been purchased, not "rescued". Any future dogs I get will almost certainly be purchased. I simply have no interest in adopting from a rescue-i get very tired of the shop don't adopt chanting on social media. Everyone has an opinion but I don't know why some feel it is their right to force their opinions on others. Sounds like the OP's daughter is trying to do her best for this dog, and that is the important thing. Honestly, I see rescues offering outdoor type dogs to indoor only homes all too often-but I guess that's different because a rescue can do no wrong? Smh.

You have some very good valid points and I am sure you mean well. However after "listening " to you, your character has really come to the fore as being fanatical. And for that reason if I had anything to do with rescues I would make sure you never had an animal......

The person who emailed to put down the dog owner who is trying to rehome her dog...could have not bothered. Just let it go. No sanctimonious, judgmental message, then no post on ebrandon, and so no sanctimonious posts from you or anyone else. Easy as can be.

The title alone and of course there was going to be both positive and negative feedback.

I absolutely posted to shame the shamer. It was simply unkind. Everyone has an opinion...doesn’t mean it needs to be offered. If they had left a name to respond to, this would not have gone public. I never intended this to be an argument over who, where or when to buy a dog. Who deserves a dog, or who is fit to own a dog. We know the answers to that in this case. My daughter put an ad on this site. No one was asking for opinions. For the true animal lovers, rest assure that he will be going to a loving home.

If you think you aren't as bad as the initial "shamer" you are wrong. Having your own opinion on a subject is one thing but to continuously act as though you know exactly what went on for those folks just by reading a classified ad they posted is ridiculous. People do things out of love and sometimes it ends up being the wrong decision. Never do they deserve to be put down, judged negatively or told they were wrong in the first place by a complete stranger.

The judgment started the moment you decided to send the OP a judgmental email. Great, you think your view on this is the only one. You can't tolerate the possibility that some people take actions that you don't agree with. You get upset and defensive when people defend their own actions...it's time to get over yourself and move on.  
 
I get it, you're upset that someone is defending their decision to find their beloved pet a new home...but you're particularity upset they didn't do it "your way". They have a name for that kind of person: narcissist.  
 
After adopting a dog ourselves, our family became a foster home for a Saskatchewan-based dog rescue. There were many times we had more than 5 dogs in our house. We would re-train dogs to once again love humans, other dogs and even other animals. We would teach them to behave on a leash, and eventually even off a leash. In all we had over 30 dogs live with us over a 3 year period.  
 
But the one thing we never ever did as a rescue, was judge people...perhaps you could do the same?
