Does anyone know of any financial help from perhaps someplace like the humane society for surgery on a sick dog? I have an elderly friend who’s dog needs surgery & the cost is well beyond her reach.

Try phoning some of the vets and see if they are willing to discount their fees considering the situation.

Your friend can take out their own personal loan, use a credit card or use petcard. Which is a loan specific to vet bills etc.

I would have to google it, but I was in this spot years ago and was able to get some pet insurance. You dont have to get it before they get sick. Its basically a payment plan through an insurance company.

I think there are a couple of places that will help, BUT the elderly persons pet will go to a foster home with the rescue that paid until the operation is paid for I believe.....my friend had his kitty's life saved with a surgery that was unexpected they got him back after they did some fundraising, some vet offices also take donations if you make arrangements before hand, as a lot more people prefer to donate RIGHT to the vet clinic itself in your oets file to assure their donated money actually is used for said pet...good luck!

I’m willing to contribute towards this, does your friend have any money towards the surgery? What are the chances that a vet would be open to possibly having it paid off before performing the surgery? I won’t be able to contribute much money but I’m sure if she has family or friends willing to pitch in, we could cover the cost (depending on the total amount). A random act of kindness in these times might be a good thing if we could pull it off somehow.

Does anyone know more about the Pet Card that was mentioned and how difficult it is to get?  
 
We, unexpectantly, have a very ill puppy that HD to be admitted tonight. I have quite a bit available to pay whatever bill arises but based on what the vet thinks it is, it is going to take more than what I have to save her. Just wondered how quickly one can get approved for a pet card?

Fairly quick, almost immediate answers if not immediate answers. You’ll need all your vets info as the funds are sent directly to them from petcard. Their website should explain all of this I believe
