I am sure I will get some crap for this post but I wish people would think before taking their fur babies out in this heat. I had dogs so I do know they need exercise but when it is this hot out maybe stop and think that your dog is suffering when you take them out in the afternoon to go running or bike riding with them. Taking them for short walks to do their business or whatever but I really think people are cruel when they take them out in the middle of the afternoon for a run or bike ride in the heat. I know your pet loves doing that with you but not in this heat. I use to actually carry water for just my dogs when it was over +25. Can you not take them out in the early morning or later at night.

If you’re uncomfortable, your dog is worse with their fur coat. If the pavement is hot, they could burn their paws. Gets to the point when it’s too hot for man or beast!

Is not good for your pets, if you must exercise them which is understandable then do it early morning or late evening. Watching a pet pant for hours with their tongues hanging out isn’t anyone’s idea of good exercise for them.

Nope, sorry. Your dog is different. Your dog has a choice to lay in the shade and not chase birds. When a dog is running in plus 30 heat it does not have a choice to stop and lay in the shade or to stop and drink water. So, you may think it is judging but I think it is people not using common sense. It is up there with people leaving animals in hot cars.

Poor fur babies . I get up at 5 and we are out walking by 5:30. It is a lot cooler. I have a kiddie pool on my deck that my baby can jump into when ever he wants too. I have a young Golden Retreiver. I worked a few years in Ontario at a vet clinic. A young pup was brought in because he was forced to run with his owner tied to a bike. The pup almost died and the vet would not return the pup to the owner. He found a really good home for him.  
My thought. These people maybe should not own a fur baby.

of the dog should be guiding the dog onto the grass instead of hogging the whole path! Besides the grass would be a lot cooler for the dog when walking on it
