Does anyone have any advice on how to get a cat to accept a new dog? I’ve never had this problem before.

We got a dog a few years back. Already had the cat. We used a old towel and would rub the cat down and just leave the towel near the dog. Next day we would rub the dog and place the towel near the cat. The cat stayed downstairs for some time. We would hold the cat and let the dog smell it. It took some time. But they did become very good friends.

The new dog I adopted is indifferent towards the cat. The cat just for whatever reason which appears random will want to go after me, and my other dog. I’ll try what you suggested.

I don't have any dogs right now, but have four cats. They don't all get along all the time. I also used to have a dog with separation anxiety, as well as a dog with generalized anxiety.  
Some things I have found that have worked in various combinations for some of the problems include Feliway plug-ins (this is a phermone), Royal Canin Calm food, Anxitane (which is L-theanine), Anzio VM Calming formula (a herbal liquid supplement), Amitriptyline (this is prescription), and currently the bully cat is on Fluoxetine (Prozac, also prescription).

I’ve tired most of that. I’m leaving dogs in kennels while at work and the cat can roam about.  
She has her room to come and go in when she needs to. Thanks for your advice.

I can't find ANY dog food that my 5 LB chihuahua enjoys. Have tried many kinds. Do you have any suggestions, small but tasty for her?  
Also anyone had their female spayed recently. How did it go? How about urinary incontinence for older Chihuahuas? Thx

Hi. Still having problems with my cat wanting to attack my dogs and me. This again happens randomly. I never know when to expect it but she is scary when it happens. She’s already scratched me from the knee down to my ankle and that was because I sacrificed my leg so my small dogs wouldn’t be the victims. I’ve tried cbd oil, Feliway diffuser, as well as Feliway spray on the dogs. It’s so random and unpredictable that I’m not sure if any of that really helped. I’m running out of ideas. The cat won’t even let me near her when this happens. She sees the dogs and myself as a threat to her.

Is it a calico cat, by any chance?
