dumb question about bunnies

or maybe a question about dumb bunnies....
We moved the kids buns inside a month or so ago when the weather got cold, into a homemade hutch that they had never been in before, it has a nice big run then 3 separate inside hutch type spaces (for 2 holland lops). They have grass for bedding and they won't leave it in the hutch parts. Like within a day of cleaning and filling their cage its all out of all 3 spaces. Weird, any ideas what the problem could be?
