My husband and I adopted our Husky/Shepherd mix (who also supposedly has some wolf blood in her, according to the shelter we got her from) last October.  
 
This breed isn't for everyone, but we find her just great! She has the best personality. Such a goof sometimes, but also so unbelievably loyal and protective. She sheds like CRAZY, and we have to brush her all the time, but it is so worth it! She loves nothing more than to go for a walk or to run at the dog park, she has boundless energy!  
 
She always has to sleep in the same room as us at night. She can't fit on the bed but she lays right down beside it. And if she hears anything suspicious at night she lets us know about it right away.  
 
Once when we lived in Thompson I was walking with her, and this drunk came up to me and threatened to kill me (it was in the afternoon lol) and Lily growled at him. H backed off! Even in his intoxicated state he knew not to mess with her, or me while she was with me!  
 
We have another dog who is 100% mutt and he is just a dear too! But a Husky/Shepherd mix is definitely the type of dog we'd look at getting again.
