boxers and seizures

so I have a beautiful boxer named doodles. He is going to be 6 years old this christmas. He has had seizures since he was two. Even though he is on medication daily, I find that he has at least two seizures a month. Other than the seizures he is happy and bonkers. Am I been cruel keeping him alive?
