So im just curious to know how many people would be interested in helping a rabbit rescue. Ive done quite a bit of research and the only rabbit rescue we have in canada is in bc.  
Rabbits become an unwanted pet here a lot it seems just from what i see in the pound and posts of people finding domesticated bunnies in their yards. I feel as though we could use one. Since there are no small animal rescues here. Lots for cats and dogs but none for any other type of animal. Same with pet insurance. Which is dumb in my opinion.  
Anyways just looking for some input.

There was a lady who did this in Brandon in the past, out of her home. She would be a good one to get some input from, I wish I could remember her name!

A small animal rescue but has dissapeared. :/ which hasnt left much for all the other small pets.

There was a girl names Alyssa who did this, she ran Alyssa's Ark (I think that's what it's called) I'm pretty sure it got to the point she just couldn't afford it anymore. When you have to rely on donations for something it's never guaranteed. What if you don't get donations and now that money is coming out of pocket? Can you afford to feed and provide bedding for 20 or so rabbits? You need to make sure the animals are clean, fed, and watered, plus any vetting that a rescue may have to deal with. When rescuing animals they usually have health problems. All the rabbits should be spayed and neutered before being adopted out. What about ones that are straight up mean, even after tons of one on one time, are you going to be willing to keep those as permanent residence?

Looking into the legal matters as well though for a non profit organization. There are grants available as well as fundraising. If im going to do it im going to do it properly and not just out of my home. It wouldnt happen over night as i have 3 rabbits of my own im currently working with. And actually food and bedding is the cheap part. Cages and vet bills are the most expensive along with litter boxes and all the other items needed. So would be a lengthy process but i feel there is a need. I would also be looking into fosters as i just dont have the space for any more. Aggressive rabbits have been taught aggressiveness. They take longer to trust but are the most rewarding. Ive been working with my aggressive female since feb and she is finally starting to realize im not the enimy and not to fight me. I am able to pet her and put my hands in her cage as well as she lays with me on the floor. I thought she was impossible. But i didnt give up and she is becoming one of my best rabbits! She still doesnt like the other rabbits near her cage but she isnt trying to get out to tear them apart anymore either. So with time and patience i think most rabbits will warm up to people

I am the one who used to run Alyssa's Ark. It was in operation for 4.5 years but unfortunately I had to shut it done. I found homes for almost 100 small animals during that time. And ran mostly on donations and my own funds. It became to much of a financial commitment for me and I have decided to go back to school.

If in the event someone were to start a small animal rescue I would be more then happy to help out. I have three rabbits of my own and two were rescued and then they had a few (8) babies by accident I may put in. I was able rehome 7 of the babies. One was so badly injured that he cost me too much money to rehome. Anyhow, I would be willing to help with cleaning and what not within reason if someone were to start a small animal rescue!

also would be willing to volunteer some time, I couldn't foster but would help in in other ways if needed for a small animal rescue.
