I'm looking for a place that I can take my dogs to go for a swim. In Saskatoon they had a dog park on a river bank that was all sandy for the dogs to go swimming. I get that there probably isn't an official park seeing the plain small dog parks we have, but is there anywhere people normally take their dogs to go swimming?

We take our 2 dogs every weekend to Salt Lake. It's worth the drive!

I'd be interested to know as well! My pup loves swimming, but the lake we normally go to is to far of a drive!

Take the dog to the river at Dinsdale park. Decent banks. Saw a guy and his dog there the other day. Dog looked like he was having a blast!

We just got back from there with our three dogs. The south side boat launch off highway #25 east off the dam Chimo beach has the cabins there

The Salt Lake south of Strathclair? Never seen it mentioned on here before (one of my favourite places to be though)

Of Lenore. Just 2 minutes from it lol.. I'm terrible with the rural Manitoba, so I'm not sure where Strathclair is. Gorgeous there!

Minnedosa beach has one area for dogs, we sometimes take ours there

Where is this area for dogs? Are you sure. Last I knew there was no such area.  
 
Please make sure if you take your dog somewhere for a swim that they are allowed there!!!

Theres a certain area for the dogs...people go there all the time.

Where? Just because people go there doesn't mean it's actually allowed.

Salt Lake close to Lenore is for people swimming not dog swimming. There is a Municipal by-law to keep your dogs on a leash and clean up after them. If you bring your dog to Salt Lake please abide by the law. The by-enforcement officer has been notified and will enforce the law. Please do not ruin the lake for the small children and adults who are afraid of your dogs.

Dogs can swim on a leash and they do not "ruin a lake" by swimming in it. Not everyone is afraid of dogs and most dog owners are hyper sensitive to those around them and make sure that their "PET" is not scaring anyone and if they are they remove the dog from the situation in most cases. I don't believe one person speaks for the entire community and I don't believe the bylaw states that the dogs are not allowed into the water. Also, don't assume that good dog owners do not clean up after their dogs as we do and we also clean up after other peoples dogs who choose to not do so.....we do that out of respect for the community we live in.  
 
Some dogs behave better than children and obviously are more compassionate than some adults. Don't lump all dogs or all people into one heap as being bad dogs or bad people.

Bottom line is if there are signs saying NO DOGS ON THE BEACH that means NO dogs on the beach regardless if they are on a leash.  
 
I cannot speak for all beaches mentioned here but if there is a sign then do not think it doesn't apply to you just because your dog is good and is on a leash.

are two different signs and I obey both. Not once did anyone say they took their dogs onto a beach with a no dog sign.

Wawanesa, Ninette, Killarney , I think you could take your dogs for a swim out there!

Minnedosa has signs that say no dogs on the beach but yet people still think they can take their dogs there. Someone said there is a place for dogs but won't say where. I don't think it exists.  
 
I have also been to other beaches that say no dogs allowed but still people think they are above the rules!!!
