Any recommendations

We feed our bichon/shitzu dry food to graze on all day, and soft food in the AM. We have tried all of the high end dry dog foods, and found that most of them made him very itchy and his coat and skin very dry. We settled on Iams food for the dry. For the wet food we buy the fresh stuff from the cooler at Sobeys, he absolutely loves it, and it has no adverse effects on him.

small bites (Salmon, Turkey, Duck) its grain free and small pieces made just for small dogs. We mix the wet and kibble together and our small dog loves it.

I personally wouldn't feed iams to my dog, no offence =)  
You can get some of these at best west, pet value, and pet warehouse. I highly recommend a raw diet (depending on your dog and breed.. pet ware house sells some raw food)  
 
Some really good quality foods:  
Orijen (one of the best on the market), they also make the brand Acana, which isn't as high quality as orijen but still very good. and its Canadian ;)  
 
Eagle (some of them are mid quality), Performatrin isn't bad, Wellness Core, Before Grain, Blue buffalo...ect  
 
Stay away from most products at walmart, Iams, purina, ol'roy.. they aren't very good quality.

Orijen or acana. Both are awesome

I use regular bites TD dental formula. It keeps their teeth clean and the dog's coat is shiny, gorgeous. Don't worry about the big size of the kibble most small dogs can handle it. This dog food in my research and experience is the best of them all.

It can be pricey but saw a great difference in my dogs when I feed them Acana! I also love that it's made in Canada as an added bonus!
