From what I have gathered the cities animal licensing runs from January until December, my dog will be turning 6 months in November. I'm just wondering if I go in and get him a license if I'd have to pay for this year plus pay again next year, or if I get a discount (it's only a month...), or if I should just wait? We use the dog parks frequently, I've never seen a by-law there but the ticket is just as much as the license.

First moved to Brandon last year and I went to register my dogs in October. The lady at the city hall had told me to wait until January instead of paying a full year.  
However you can still get ticketed at a dog park. We waited, and was very careful at the dog parks.

Thanks, I kinda figured they wouldn't have a discounted price hah. I doubt we'll be using much of the dog park come December either. So guess I'll wait until January.

Live here with 2 dogs. I keep all of my dogs shots and vet visits up to date.  
Never once have I wasted my money and gotten a dog license.  
Don't waste your money.  
If you wait till after 5pm to go to dog parks you'll never see a bylaw officer. They all go home.  
Plus I have never even heard of anyone getting a ticket.
