Okay ebrandon... for those of you who feed raw diet to their dogs, where do you source your muscle meats & RMB's? What do you feed them?  
 
My dog has been having ongoing health issues, and we've had him on a commercial dehydrated raw diet in the past and he did really, really well. We're going all in this time to see if we can improve his quality of life.  
 
I'm not wanting a debate about the merits of raw diet, as I feel confident about this decision. I'm looking for local sources and ideas for types of locally available protein I can give him. Thanks.

Are amazing! Fully believe in the healing power of raw food. It cleared up our dogs skin condition we took her off all of her herbs and medications. Her ears stopped becoming so severely infected. It was impossible to find raw food in Brandon 3-4 years ago when I was feeding my doggy. I purchased from Its Raining Cats and Dogs in Winnipeg on Academy. I would purchase 3 months supply at a time. They have numerous different proteins: beef, chicken, venison, rabbit, etc I used a beef protein it brought the inflammation down compared to the chicken. I believe it was called spring meadow. Came in 1/2 lb patties and 8lbs to a bag. Was quite economical at $19.99 a bag but I'm sure it's more like 25+ now but depending on your dog size it could still be economical. If you have the time you can process freezer burnt meat into dog food and just add a handful of crumbles for extra reassurance for vitamins and minerals.

I'd talk to the butchers in town and see what they can save you.  
 
If you have any hunters in your family ask them for there scraps.  
 
Keep an eye out at Walmart and the like for there 50% off meat (liver is pretty cheap, and if you can get it 50% of that's even better)  
 
Put an ad on ebrandon, I'm sure there will be people giving away freezer burnt meat and such (there's been a few discussions where someone's freezer has quit working and they needed to get the meat gone asap, this isn't a forsure thing so I wouldn't rely on it but).  
 
If you know if any local farmers that process there own animals you could ask them to save the scraps.

I raise New Zealand meat rabbits. They are a high source of protein and all white meat, much healthier than both chicken and beef.
