I'm considering dogsitting for more than just friends' dogs. Not sure what kind of demand there is for this.  
Just wondering what other dog people look for when having to leave your dogs with someone else...  
(by dogsittig, I mean the dog is in the house as part of the family. I do not have a boarding kennel)

I want someone who can control my dog, has the time to take them out for walks and understand her personality. My dog is not good with other dogs, but great with people, Cost would be important as a kennel is a good option. Would she be in a crate all day or have full range of the home? Is food provided, treats, guess its all things that would need to be discussed. Do you have cats....children...would it be one dog at a time or many? Do you provide grooming too, some home doggy day cares do...in bigger citites, Do you have a yard? Feel free to PM me

If you are an animal lover, trustworthy, and willing to stay at their house, I think you have a goldmine. We travel a few times a year and would love your service.

It's hard to find someone who will take in your dogs and give you peace of mind that the dogs are being cared for as well as you care for them. To us our dogs are our children, so we want the best for them. We have to make a few trips per year that they can't come along. So yeah! I think there is a need for extra special care for dogs, but it may just have to be a sideline or hobby for someone.

It is an awesome service to provide. The kennels are great but booked well in advance and sometimes one needs a weekend on short notice. My dog is quite old, does not do stairs at all as she is almost bling and almost deaf. She is much better at her own home since she knows her way around. I would consider someone's home if there was a way to block off stairs. She does the steps at the front and back door but there is only 4.  

I have done some dog sitting in the past and am considering getting my first aid for animals. sent pm.

Would be great, l have 2 dogs and they have anxiety issues about being without a human around. I cannot take them to a kennel, l know they would disrupt the other dogs. If l could find someone that would stay at my residence for an evening or a day or 2 to look after my pups l would love it. Or if could start a pet owner coop that takes turns looking after each others pets. We live out of Brandon so again that would be great to find someone to stay with the pups. If anyone is interested l would like to hear from you we live 30 miles out of town.

I never actually thought about going to someone else's place to dogsit. Friends bring their dogs here while they're away But it's definitely something I should look into.  
And yes, I absolutely love dogs, have 3 of my own.  
 

The best way to offer dogsitting services is to go and stay at that individual`s home. Less stress for the dog, easier to keep their routine, and that is what a lot of pet owners who don`t want to take their pet`s to a kennel look for.  
 
If you are bringing other dogs to your home, never offer to provide the food and treats. You will have diarrhea from one end of your home to the next.

I have looked after both dogs and cats at their own homes, and loved it! I have even brought my young son along, he loves pets also! I loved every minute of it, and ended up making a couple of good friends also! There seems to be some demand for it here in Brandon, and I have gone as far as Medora to pet sit!
