what are the steps to train a dog to go on a toilet with success?

Never heard of that before. I knew you could with a cat but never a dog. I would be curious to find out myself.

nope and do not think I came to ebrandon without checking youtube videos but the youtube videos didnt help much so it is why I posted a question

Teach your dog to use the potty? Seems like a "painful" process to undertake..

Safe to say they've heard of this option but have chosen to look for local first-hand accounts here. Do you have one to share?

Litter box training dogs, you could try that first and once they have that down follow the same steps one would do to toilet train a cat, how big of a dog is it? Just wondering if a dog would have the balance a cat does to stay on the toilet

Just something to think about, using a toilet is hard on cats and dogs joints. Can cause arthritis when they are older. Its an un natraul position for them to be in and the jumping up and down off the toilet is what causes the arthritis and joint pain. They may end up not being able to use said toilet because of the pain they will be in.

I heard some dogs with arthritis and they are not using a toilet so it just happens to some as aging same for us. I am not planning to have the dog go on the toilet all day and my toilet is not 4 feet tall
