Yesterday we had a Blue Jay in our garden. I had never seen one but it's a beautiful bird to see. I was wondering how common they are in Brandon. We live in the 100 block of Douglas Street. Any ideas how to attract them?

We have been in our house in the west end for 5 years. Seen blue jays here for all 5 years. Love seeing them.

.....have been out here for 18yrs. Tons of blue jays, they do love peanuts and of course bird seed.....

Look at Walmart or Canadian tire for the bird seed secifcy for bluejays. I think it's the same to cardinals too. Won't be long before you will see bluejays. Although I have never attracted cardinals. I live in the East End.

Around Rideau Park area. Watched 3 of them in an apple tree last week. Very pretty but very noisy.

I feed the jays peanuts in the shell. They come to my yard every morning in the east end. If I dont go out early enough they sqwauk until I get there. Sometimes annoying. Northern Flickers are around right now also and are nice to watch.
