We are getting a large breed puppy, wanting to know if there is any puppy classes available in the new year?

They have great classes.

This is where we've gone with a couple of our dogs and our friends have also gone there with great success. Renee is as good as you'll find .

Lynn White is amazing. We originally took our large breed pup to Two Brown dogs. I’m not saying their classes aren’t good but they train by rewarding your dog for good behaviour. Our breed was pretty willful so it didn’t work out too good. Hard to reward good behaviour when your pup is trying to be the boss. Someone recommended Lynn and she teaches more being the alpha of the dog pack. More recommended I think for larger breeds. Both are effective but for different types of dogs I think. Our dog is so well behaved thanks to her. Now I can just state a command and he listens. Highly recommend her.

I second Two Brown Dogs. They use only positive reinforcement training, and have the only certified professional dog trainers in the area. I would never use any other kind of training with my dog. Renee owns German Shorthaired Pointers, which are large dogs that are high strung and willful, and her methods work extremely well with them.  
Do some research on the qualificaitons of the different trainers and the type of training that they teach. Then you can make a decision as to what is the best fit for you.

I got a large breed puppy in February and started him at Two Brown Dogs at 9 weeks old.  
We did the 2 levels of puppy class, have completed the "Good Dog Level 2" and are awaiting the Good Dog 3 classes in the new year.  
Very happy with our experience there. They are firm and strait forward with you but don't take it to heart, they are only trying to help you and your pup.  
The clicker training has been very effective with our dog, even now when we are learning new things we start off with the clicker to be able to positively reinforce the behavior until we can transition to just command only obedience.  
Regardless of which place you choose to go with I highly recommend obedience classes for not only the training aspect but the social aspect as well.

Does she not still use the outdated method of training by punishing and jerking on the leash? Inhumane if so!
