Adding to the discussion surrounding the completion of phase 1 of the rehab...

Would it be a good idea for the City to restrict access to the 100 block of 17th and make it into a 'local traffic only' cul-de-sac?  
 
Along with this would come a $2 permit for viewing the wall, which would be placed behind a curtain. Residents of the block, of course, would be able to obtain a low-cost permit for year-round entry.  
 
The idea is to recoup part or all of the cost of wall rehab.  
 
I, for one, say 'keep the wall free'.  
 
Thoughts, anyone?

No. I highly doubt anyone would pay a fee to look at a wall, even with the historical significance behind the wall. I sure wouldn’t.

Not seeing any sense in your idea. City has spent more money on more frivolous ideas. Closing the street to through traffic would come with expense as well

is this idea some kind of a joke? Who is proposing this nonsense? What's going to stop people from walking up to have a look? Armed guards?
