RHA top heavy

Did anyone read the Letter to the Editor submitted by Dr. Decter a couple or three days ago? As he referred to the administration at the hospital he pointed out the sheer number in attendance at Tim Hortons and quality of attire. He was expounding on the number of meetings and capability of the administrators (execs, asst.execs, managers, asst managers, facilitators, and all the entourage that entails) to perform their duties to an acceptable degree. Has anyone else ever wondered how much actual work is being done because of these frequent meetings, are these same meetings actually productive and the size of the salaries being paid to the higher echelon? Before anyone goes on about professionals being well paid just what is considered adequate compensation and are those paid, earning those dollars. I was heartened when the RHA’s were first proposed: it seemed a good idea at the time to reduce red tape, redundancy and thereby providing more effective and efficient care. Bill Fraser’s letter a day later stated the case as well. Unfortunately the beast has ballooned out of all proportion and is tripping on its own perceived self importance! Should we as tax payers be privy to the salaries paid and position requirements. Some of the position titles would confuse Rex Murphy!!
