Well looks like Shindico is looking for a new tenant in the Corral Centre.

Ardene will be closing, relocating or combining with the mall.

I like the store but they're always so cramped with merchandise.

Was just in the store to ask about this. It is open and was told they are not closing. Maybe a mixup for the land Shindico has been showing on the site plan that’s available for development just East of Dollarama on the Southwest corner of the Walmart parking lot?

If you look at the link the OP provided, you can see it''s clearly listing the storefront that is currently Ardene''s

There''s this:

What makes it more interesting/confusing is that if you use Google Maps, 801 18th St N is ACTUALLY the Home Depot location/building.

I see the site plan just shows that square foot number and no ardene logo in between Dollarama and Moore’s. Will drop Shindico and the franchise a note to see if there is clarification.

Remember this has happened to Western Motel. When Shindico had placed it for sale. Then workers from the motel came onto ebrandon and started saying ohh we're not selling.. bla bla bla.. and at the end the motel was already sold.

I doubt any of the employees know whats going on.. and if you check all the files, it shows there are no logos for Ardene!

way to find out your possibly going to be laidoff. Lease up for that location possibly or adding pressure to renew?

A while ago it was a regular Ardene but it became sort of an "outlet" ardene if you catch my drift. You can't use the VIP card they have for store loyalty there because the store is technically sort of a liquidation for the mall ardene. They constantly had sales whenever I was in there. Stuff was 60-80% off plus normal deals.

Thanks adam for finding out they weren't closing. breathing a sigh of relief as that's the nicest place I can get clothes that I like without ordering

I’m not sure I’d go as far as definitively saying that at this point. The fact that the landlord is advertising what appears to be their exact space for lease certainly raises questions about that particular locations future that hopefully landlord, tenant or both can clarify. In the absence of that what you could say is that they’re open today and they’ve said nothing that would indicate any change in status is imminent. If I was a customer (granted I’m not exactly their target market ) I would consider them tomorrow just the same as I would have today.

But at any rate I’ve sent messages to Ardene corporate as well as the landlord. Hopefully they are able to set the record straight.

Just consider them open until otherwise said by the company themselves.9

They probably will be open until they find another suitor for the place. When do they do they will kick Ardene out.

Shindico wouldn''t put something on their website of a lease available. Legally they don''t be entitled to do it. There has to be more to the story and the plan of the store. Hopefully Adam, gets a serious answer.

Again, like I said this situation is similar to western hotel and the staff there were saying we''re open and not sold. Then weeks later there was no western hotel anymore.

I've received a reply back from Shindico.

First point to make is that the info on their site is correct, the space is available for lease. Ardene is to continue operating until a new tenant is secured, which Shindico is actively working to do. This is a large reputable company in real estate in this province and wouldn't be about to deceive or misrepresent. I appreciate their giving opportunity to clarify.

I've asked for a follow-up if there's anything new to know in the future. I'll also update further if I hear from Ardene on what their future plans are as far as whether they would relocate that particular store or focus their efforts in this market on their Shoppers Mall location (I'm one to avoid assumptions when I can).

hopefully the staff at that location are aware of this, and not get the shaft if that location isn't relocated elsewhere.
