My 11 year old daughter is asking to go to this movie with her friends. It is rated PG. Thoughts??

access it to see if the message that is there is one you want your child to learn.  
 
chances are she is or has seen worse.  
 
I have not seen it so no idea whether its a good show good message or pure crap.  
 
one I did see was "love Simon" that is a movie I think young people should see a good message in it.  
 
The message from the write up on "I feel pretty" look encouraging however its Hollywood and its Amy Schumer maybe not the best life coach from previous work she has done.

On Brandon theatre site it is rated PG.  
Can't wait to see this one myself!

Just watched Ellen. She said a great movie to take all young girls to.

Here is a review on it. It doesn't sound like the best movie for a young kid.

I use Common Sense Media for reviews with this particular lean. Sometimes a description of a film or video game will spoil the story, but I rather have that then let a kid see something they might not be ready for.

Because everywhere else I look it's actually rated PG-13 for sexual content, some partial nudity, and language. Not PG like Landmark has listed.

Given that Amy schumer is in it, I’d be careful of vulgar and adult humour. The message behind it might be a good one for young girls but the delivery might not be appropriate?

Is it bad that I would have no problem taking my 8 year old daughter to see it?! Lol

It often contains spoilers, but the parent's guide on IMDB is generally very useful. It is clear about the content and you can then make your own decision about whether it is okay for your kid or not.

WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW  
Parents need to know that I Feel Pretty is a comedy starring Amy Schumer as Renee, an insecure New Yorker who, after a head injury, wakes up believing that she's been magically transformed into a "hot" beauty - although she looks exactly the same to everyone else. Renee's newfound confidence allows her to live her best life (i.e. being happy and going after what she wants). Expect strong language ("s-t," "a-hole," "bitch," etc.) some kissing, flirting, and racy conversations, as well as one sex scene with implied nudity (bare shoulders, legs, thighs, silhouettes) and pillow talk. Characters also drink, at least once to excess. Despite some raised eyebrows about the movie's concept/story, its ultimate message is that self-assurance and self-esteem - not outward appearance - are what's important and that everyone is attractive in their own way.  
 
That is what common sense media.org had to say about the movie. I am going to allow her to go. Thank you everyone for your input.
