I read this article on CBC news that for a small fee you can register your bike in Winnipeg in case of theft, it may make recovering it easier.  
 
I thought this was a neat idea. Does anyone know if Brandon has something like this too? It sounds fairly new to Winnipeg as of April.  
 
Every spring/summer/fall bike thefts seem to go through the roof. I know I would support something like this if we have it.

it was once common to licence your bike in Manitoba. Remember seeing bikes with small licence plates on them.

just have a plate attached to your bike isn't good enough but register your serial number of your bike will be good. I would say first of all to lower bike thefts a good lock and lock your bike properly would eliminate bike stolen. My opinion only ....prevention first
