I hope October brings change!

I was hoping to get some fresh faces around the council table but seems quite a few current councillors/mayor are running again.
I hope that Berry runs again. I don't agree with everything he does but he consistently asks a lot of questions that need asking and he is not afraid to take the mayor, city manager and administration to task. This is the type of person I want on council. He doesn't leave us guessing what team he's on.
IMO, Cullen and LoRegio had some good debates/questions too this past term. I didn't really agree with much the rest had to say over the years.
This link is Monday's council meeting. At 15:20, this is just one disgruntled Brandon business owner.
As a resident, I've dealt with the city and various departments and employees and I've only been impressed with one employee. She was polite and helpful when everyone else was...less than. It's disappointing to take issues to the city, where you pay taxes and have made a life, to be treated less than. I believe this happens from the top down in any company. But I'm getting too far off the election topic, sorry.
I think it's unfortunate that the city has divided the city into wards. The councillor in my area hasn't done anything to help the issues I've brought forward and I've had to enlist the help of other councillors so what's the point of having wards? And he's running again.
Here's my plea: People, please run for mayor and/or council. If you care about the city, have the time, desire and want to help your fellow residents, and have a lot of interest in the city finanicals, do not let anyone running again to be acclaimed this coming election. I can only vote for one mayor and one councillor but any new person will get my vote fairly easily. This city still needs change. Maybe not like that pink wave of change, but it still needs change. (I would still like to see another female mayor)
Then again, I watch too many city council meetings and hear too much "gossip" about what really goes on around here.
