Lots of black smoke coming from east side of Brandon? Brandon and fire responding....anyone know what’s burning?

Wasn’t there a fire at Christie’s not that many years ago? Hate to see this happen to any business, but especially to one that has been in Brandon for so many years. Hope everyone got out safely.

Luckily they evacuated Massy Manor because the roof was on fire too (little flames though and they are spraying water on it right now). Hopefully it’ll be under control!

The wind was blowing towards Massey Manor, so embers could be carried over.

Smart move by the BFD. fire would not be the issue but debris etc. Especially if there was a explosion. Smoke if the wind changed. The place stocks many items not firefighter friendly. A loss to Brandon. I hope no one was hurt and for the employees sake rebuilds.

Was unbearable on Assiniboine avenue. I can not imagine how Massey Manor could survive with out substantial heat/smoke damage. Brick building, but everything inside is flammable

4 active fires

Looks like there are four active fires in Brandon right now. 1) Christie’s which is a total loss, the remains are still on fire. 2) Boxing Club beside Christie’s 3) Massey Manor is now completely on fire 4) Some other building between Rosser & Princess also between what looks to be in the same area of 6th.
As we left the North side, we met Shilo FD coming in to help.

If you have FB Real Eastman is livestream from 8Th and Princess. Police have the Town Center entrance blocked and some businesses north of Princess have been evacuated-I am not entirely sure which ones.

Scandal the one fire you mentioned Collyer's( which is East of Christies on North side of Pacific). Did you mean them or the old Hood's Auto Parts ( on S.W. corner of 7th and Pacific)?
