please enlighten me as too why a group or individual can even get a permit/police escort/permission to march down a city street/highway to promote their specific cause whether that is for a protest or not.
i can see a public good like the summer fair parade/santa parade etc as they are a public good.
just because you are protesting something does that mean you have the right to access public resources for police services and other such items and take up public road way?
i am not against peaceful protests, that is a function of a democratic society, just the manner in which it is allowed.
this latest one on the west end of town they were walking down the Vic ave, with 2 police cars as escort when there is a perfectly good sidewalk available. no clue as to what it was about so what did thier walk accomplish.
i don't get it.
can anyone just get a permit or police escort for their own cause what is the criteria.
