Good places in Brandon and surrounding area for a picnic

This warm weather makes me want to spend more time outside!

Does anyone know of any places in Brandon and the surrounding area for a picnic? Just a nice outdoors space preferably somewhere that isn't super public, a place with a fair amount of privacy.

It’s a public park, but there are some more private tables over by the bridge. As well, clear lake is always fun, and I haven’t tried spruce woods but I’ve heard good things.

26th street down all the past the water treatment plant there is a picnic area with firepit grills. no wood in the bins though so you might need to take your own.

if you have smaller kids there is a super play structure. it was a nice day when we went and virtually no one there.

There’s no wood because there is no burning allowed currently at public spaces in Brandon. Only recreational bon fires in your yard that have an approved permit according to the press release.

Not sure how far you would want to drive, but Turtle Mountain Provincial Park just south of Boissevain is very nice.

Out by the dam in Minnedosa, there's walking trails and picnic tables along the river. Very pretty. There's also the beacha and facilities down the road, it would be relatively quiet this time of year as the water would still be very cold.

have you heard of the ten mile dam. it was a great place to swim. you can picnic there. just precook your food

I found a page that has a map but it doesn't show a road going to the site. Would this be the best way to get there? Are there any signs or back roads?

Patty's link says that the dam is on private property and not accessible by road.
