I'm thinking of possibly renting some space at one of the local community halls to host a birthday party for a couple hours. But I wanted to weight the pros and cons of doing it first.  
 
So this is what I am looking for in regards to people's personal experiences with hall rentals in Brandon.  
 
I want to know the place you picked and why. Was is the size? Other things near by that peaked your interest in that hall, parking availability... stuff like that.  
 
What the approximate price was to rent for a couple hours.  
 
Are tables and chairs provided or is that an extra fee?  
 
Any feed back would be great as our house just isn't big enough for bigger family functions.

Looking at the community centers they seem to vary in price and size. Some give discounts to those in the local area. Each one has a different capacity. Some are currently unavailable for rent such as the South End according to the website. I would find the one in your area, look it up online, almost everyone has different rates and expectations. Give them a call and you will probably have more questions to ask.

I will check out the link provided. This is the first time we have considered maybe going this avenue for a family function so I not sure where to begin.

I know the Vic has banquet/meeting rooms they rent too. Not sure how big you're looking for but they have numerous sized rooms. They set them up with tables and chairs by your request too!

You might want to consider youth for Christ on rosser avenue. They have a kitchenette with fridge and sink. A boardroom type table and chairs, couches with TV and I believe DVD? And an area with a couple banquet tables. And bathroom. Inexpensive and probably good for about twenty people.

I rent a hall for my child’s birthday party every year. We have a lot of family who travel and come to Brandon to attend. I use West End Community Centre, access to the kitchen (fridge/stove), tables and chairs are all free, as well as bathrooms. You can easily cook your own meals to save money as well. It is $20 an hour- but does not require a damage deposit. I think the East End Community Centre is one of the cheaper ones to rent at $15/hour. I use the West End Community Centre though because it’s bigger and just more room for the children to play and run around, so it will depend on what you are using it for. Last year, I rented a bouncy house so there was a lot of fun to be had for hours!! I definitely recommend it.
