I thought you can't sell baked goods without a sort of inspection because of health issues so what is so different from a lemonade stand by kids I would not buy lemonade from a kid stand that I do not know how it was handled then kids outside playing around, hands on grass, dirt who knows then they serve a cup/glass to you.

Lemonade stands run by kids are not going to kill anyone you can still support children in their efforts and not drink the lemonade the whole point of it is to teach young kids about earning money or supporting great causes like charities. My daughter ran a non profit lemonade stand last year for children’s wish foundation many people didn’t even want the lemonade but supported anyway or they bought a glass of it and threw it out or gave it away. We get sick off of a lot worse things in life and our environment then we do from a child’s lemonade stand. For example I watched an employee from local restaurant in the bathroom only rinsing their hands under water and not washing after using the bathroom and they return to the kitchen what about all the BBQs we have and food is left on table uncovered and flies are landing on it laying eggs and maggots so ya there’s a lot worse support the children in their great ventures getting a licence to sell $5 worth of lemonade is pretty ridiculous. There are lots of baked goods that can be sold without an inspection. There is a list online. Usually it i:ncludes things that need to be refrigerated.  
 
Permits are required to sell items. Places like farmers markets get the permit for the event. Having a sale on your front lawn requires a permit based on the city/town bylaws in place. It’s usually not an issue unless someone complains.  
 
What is wrong with kids selling lemonade? We used to have a produce table at oak lake farmers market. My daughter did a lemonade stand. I made sure everything was clean, her hands were clean when making the lemonade/iced tea. She did well at it. And yes people actually drank it.

If you think a inspection prevents dirt you are blind. I have seen smokers go for smokes then prepare food, I have seen people use the washroom, etc. I have no issues buying from a kids lemonade stand.

It's amazing that you think that a kids lemonade stand is for your need to quench your thirst for that glass of lemonade you've been seeking all day as if you couldn't get one somewhere else.  
 
A lemonade stand is about supporting the kids and giving them a sense of earning. The glass of lemonade is just the bonus Along with those smiles.

I am so glad i live in canada. That is a usa article. Cant say i have ever heard of any cdn kid getting charged. It would be a media winfall and nightmare for regulatory body here. I can read it now... parents of 8 and 10 yr. Old kids charged....

That was only because of where the girls put the stand up so close to the NCC. I will leave this here ...
