A grocery store, gas station, maybe a restraunt lol

I would sure like to see the east side get anything - you guys are sorely lacking.  
 
On a semi-related note, I sure wish where Zellers used to be in the west end here would get developped. But I'm not holding my breath.

I was thinking that a full service gas bar / convenience store with their sandwiches and such would do good at their Richmond ave e card lock. Seems like enough truck traffic as well as all the businesses in that corner of town. I could be wrong.

What's wrong with the 2 grocery stores that service the Southend already? Sobeys South and Co op Richmond are both a 5 minute drive from the SW or SE part of the City.  
 
Gas station would be nice but those seem pretty scarce now a days all over the city.

Co-op has 2 stations in the area . One on 6th and one on Richmond.  
I would say they serve the SE of Brandon fairly well.  
 
There is a convenience store (Jiffy), restaurants, pharmacies,, etc.  
 
No need for anything more in my opinion. Sometimes a quiet area is a good thing.

Not everyone has a car so walking distance would be nice. There's literally nothing walking distance from my house.

To see a Save On grocery store...they have different groceries to choose from & are cheaper than both Sobeys & Co-op....I know there was a rumour not long ago about them coming to Brandon.

Really, desperately needed? There's a Macs at 1st and Park, Jiffy on Richmond across from a CO-OP convenience store/gas bar and the CO-OP Grocery. Tim's on 18th and in the Mall, may be too close. That said, another Drive-Thru would be nice. Another gas bar would be nice too, but not CO-OP this time. Maybe another DOMO? Anyway, some businesses are already locating on 1st Street South and with more new residential developments going into the south, more and more businesses will open at or near the 1st and Richmond intersection.

It would be great to have a fast food chain ( that has coffee)anywhere on Richmond east of 1st.  
 
Would be so much handier for traffic coming to/from Shilo area for work, plus would be handy for grabbing a quick bite to eat on road trips to Winnipeg/East for people that use the Eastern Access to the highway (much faster than going all the way through the city from the south end)

I would really like to start seeing industrial growth in Brandon. Give us some at least semi skilled labour positions that would bring in a decent wage. Being center of Canada you would think we could process our grains, beef, and ship them to stores. Could we not have hemp processing plants producing by-products? Can we not have processing plants that can recycle plastics and turn them into something great?

Brandon does not need any more restaurants, fast food chains, pizza places, minimum wage jobs. We really need industry with decent paying jobs.

For the first time in the history of eBrandon I actually agree with Fishin Guy.  
 
Industry requiring skilled/semi-skilled labour is exactly what we need in this city. Jobs that can revive the middle class and provide a comfortable life for a family.  
 
And let's hope it's unionized too, right Fishin Guy?

Let's not go there with the union crap lol. When people want to mention unions ask how much their top union guys make a year like CEO's they compare too lol. The school division budget for next school year should be coming up soon.

I would like to see a grocery store, doesn't have to be big, gas station, restaurant of some kind with quick, healthy stuff.

Pays good wages and is always on the top Canadian employers to work for list! We will have so many minimum wage service industry jobs and not enough people who want them agree with above posters

I tend to agree with Fishing Guy. The city could use actual industrial jobs, not another min. wage (or just above) retail place. Its  
 
It might be too much of a gamble for a car dealership to go out that way. I know Nissan's building is ancient and they have no real room to expand.  
 
No. Costco isn't coming to Brandon, move on wards.

Murray’s a few years back touted a new VW dealership but the deal fell through.

We only have one shell gas station left and I quite enjoy using my air miles cash to purchase my fuel. I don't mind going to the hill to fill but with two other shell stations closing in the last 2 years and actually the place on the highway looks like they are getting close to closing also. Is shell maybe on their way out completely in Brandon?

Does it really matter? It's not Winnipeg you can drive literally anywhere in brandon in 15 mins or bike anywhere in 30
