I have noticed over the years in regards to restaurants in Brandon only the small few locally owned restaurants are still around.  
 
It is great that we are now getting some restaurant chains back as it seems they do really well.  
 
The days of Moxi’s and Kelsey’s were fantastic because of their menu.  
I know there is a few costs with restaurant chains and you have to use their products but why can’t some of these owners get some of these restaurants back.  
 
And as I recall these chain restaurants were always busy. I mean look at the parking lots of Montana’s, Applebee’s and Remingtons You are pretty much always waiting for a table.  
Then compare that to Blu and whatever Browns changed to. Both were open and closed within 6 months.

Ive never seen it busy like chain restaurants, unless Christmas parties were there.

Also doesn't exist anymore does it? Thought they closed their doors well over a year ago.

I try so hard not to eat at chain restaurants anymore. I find the local ones like - Prairie Firehouse, The Dock, Lady of the Lake, Benny's Chili Chutney, Kim's... I could list so many more. Remmington's used to be THEE place to go for a nice dinner out - seafood and steak, wonderful desserts and usually a live musician (piano, cello, guitar). Unfortunately in the last ten years the downtown area declined and not many people were heading to the Town Centre for a fancy meal out. Ben Hernandez was the long time manager there and he finally opened his own restaurant, Benny's, on Rosser Ave. He has created a fab menu with a nice selection of sandwiches, salads and entrees. My family enjoy going there for lunch and dinner alike. I highly recommend Benny's!!  
 
I find the chain restaurants lack character and their food is mediocre. I can go to the local restaurants and eat locally sourced food, drink craft cocktails and enjoy a glass of wine from the wonderfully curated list. And I think the wait staff at these local places actually care about the experience you have and go above and beyond to fix any issues (in my experience).  
 
I would love to see some kind of restaurant go into the old Browns/Wheat City Bar location!! Great spot and I always enjoyed the atmosphere in there. Hopefully the owners of that building have plans in the works!

Because it went so well the first time?

To Remington’s twice, never went back. Our go to place for a elegant meal was the Green Olive. Love the Keg too. I’m hoping to get up desire to go to Benny’s but was disappointed enough with that chef when he was at Remington’s, I’m pretty leary about wasting money again, but you never know.I hope all the restaurants are successful

From my understanding browns was doing well in there before the owner switched to try to do an independent place. We all know now that it didn’t work out well. I hope browns will return sometime as I enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

The ownership didn't have much say in the change of venue as the Brown's people pulled the plug on the franchise in Brandon

It’s best to avoid rehash on what may have taken place with the location in the past. Would appreciate this thread being focused on what might be next. Thank you
