I haven’t done one in forever, but where and when do they have those boxes you can fill for kids for Christmas?

You can find boxes at the Dollarama on 18th St or in the mall, The Dollar Tree on Victoria, Faith Fellowship Baptist Church at 4 Willowdale, and probably a few other churches throughout town. Best place to drop off when you''re finished is at Faith Fellowship, as it is the official collection center for Brandon this year.  
 
Doors are open Tuesday to Friday, 9-4. Have fun filling the boxes!

My friend in Winnipeg does boxes for kids, but also for seniors. Is there anything like that here in Brandon or is it just for kids?

Just an FYI. Depending on what size and where you are sending you may have missed the cheapest option. Unless you are shipping to the USA, the surface mail deadline was last Friday. I made that mistake the first year, would have cost me $300 to ship my parcels to the UK in time for Xmas so I sent them the cheap way and family got their presents in February. Sorry I can’t help with the boxes, I keep mine from online orders and repackage.

I think this may have been posted to the wrong thread re: Christmas boxes.  
This thread was regarding the boxes prepared at Christmas time of donations for children, usually in a developing country.  
I think your response was intended for the thread about purchasing shipping boxes for gifts.

Does anyone know if anyone was injured in this accident? I saw two school buses there don’t know if they were involved or not

For those who have filled Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, or intend to and have not, the deadline is this Sunday to get them to the regional collection center in Brandon!  
 
For 2018 the regional collection center is Faith Fellowship Baptist Church at 4 Willowdale Cres. which will be open this week for drop-off during the following hours:  
 
Monday, Nov 12 to Friday,Nov 16 from 9 am to 4 pm  
Saturday, Nov 17 from 9 am to 4 pm  
Sunday, Nov 18 from 9:30 am to 4 pm  
 
Volunteers will be around to help with unloading.

I heard once that the Christmas boxes sent by churches to the poor countries were only being giving to families who had converted to those religions. Is this true? That sounds like bribery to me. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

The OCC website has an FAQ section that answers this question and more.  
 
In short, no, the gifts are given regardless of the child's beliefs. It would be contrary to their mission and core values to offer the gift with strings attached.

Yes, this is correct and the children do not have to be Christian to get the boxes.  
 
I organize the OCC boxes for my church. We have 79 boxes this year. Next year we hope to present the musical or at least part of it. It's by Kathie Hill and was written about 17 years ago.
