So a passer by or a neighbor put 5 bags of garbage and loose garbage into my green bin a couple of weeks ago while it was out for pick-up. Thank goodness I noticed it was like that prior to the truck coming to get it or I might have been in a heap of trouble from the city. I took the garbage out of the green bin, but now the grass and leaves are compromised from the loose garbage. The bin lid was left up after the garbage was put in and the grass is wet and super heavy. So I called the Sanitation department to see if they could possibly pick up my green bin with the same truck that gets the regular garbage but they have not called me back. I have left 3 messages so I guess they are telling me it's my problem.....So everyone what do I do. The bin is heavy, I don't have a truck to get it to the dump(and don't have anyone I know who does). I attempted to pull the grass out of the bin and bag it but it is like goo. Thoughts?? Call city hall, ask for someone in charge of sanitation. At this point I would pay them to come get it. Anyone else have this issue?

We have this issue down the back alley a lot. There are people who go through the garbage and mix-and-match. You have to catch them in the act with a camera otherwise it’s your word against your word. The city does pick up stuff for five dollars per item so maybe they will?! They used to get back to you quite quickly I would call my alderman.

Put a sign on the front of the bin saying GARBAGE. Our neighbor does it the other way around all the time and fills his black bin with yard waste.

and not get an answer from the city is unacceptable! You have an issue and it seems like the city could fix it for you no problem.  
 
Contact the city manager's office with your concern and make sure you tell them that you did try to deal with the issue yourself!

I am having trouble getting a hold of somebody about a green bin issue as well. On garbage day my bin was rolled out no problem. Come home from work and all the bins in the lane look like they had a rough time, my green bin now has a bent wheel and doesn’t roll worth crap.

when is the last time this year the city picks up the green bins. Is there one more pick up before winter?...thanks

According to the city of Brandon’s Facebook page, the last day for green bin pick-up is Friday November 9th (weather permitting).
