I just saw someone driving a yellow snowmobile down the sidewalk on Sycamore. WHY????  
I know they aren't allowed to drive in the city but for sure they are not to be on the sidewalk.

was he headed out of town??? i grew up in a small community where we used snowmachines alot and we never got in trouble for going down the side walk as long as we were headed straight out of town... using a back lane was not an option where i lived and neibours would get pissed if you went on their lawn so it was the safest option to get from my house to outskirts of town... in my opinion as long as they weren't being jerks and they were headed out of town i don't see an issue with it

People are entitled. Rules only apply if they get caught.

Well this isn't a small community and you are not allowed to ride your snowmobile anywhere including to go out of town. Be respectful and trailer it like the rest of the people who live in the city who own sleds.

Society is doomed! There was a snowmobile being operated in the city! The world is coming to an end! What next? Someone is going to kill dandelions with a chemical perhaps.

Who cares, he was heading outta town! I think Brandon has a lot more issues too worry about then some person driving there sled on the sidewalk to get outta town

he hits a kid, or tbones a car. Someone got killed by an offroad vehicle (quad or snowmobile, can't remember) in Winnipeg by the floodway several years back.

right.... people get so but hurt over nothing... dont worrie about the guy on the snowmachine that is heading out of town how about the greasy meth head trying to steal the snowmobile

I honestly wish I could say that I couldn't wrap my head around the type of person that would think it's appropriate to ride a sled down the sidewalk. It would be comically dangerous were it not so moronically dangerous.  
 
Sidewalks are narrow enough, the last thing some pedestrian needs is to get clobbered by a sled going out to scrape their windshield on a miserable winter morning.  
 
Who thinks this is acceptable behavior? You'd have to be a complete bozo...It's about the most over-the-top ignorant thing you can do, and whoever is doing it is a disservice to sledders that ride safely, and responsibly.  
 
Ride it on the road if you need to squirt out of town for a quick rip before the snow melts. Oh you don't want to get hit by a car? Well....I don't want to get hit by a snowmobile. Sleds, known to maneuver in a split second and stop on a dime...
